St. Peter of Alcántara

Cáceres Cathedral, Cáceres, Spain

Some of this saint's portraits feature the cross, as here, probably because he spent a good part of his life as a contemplative and wrote the influential Treatise on Prayer and Meditation. The statue is in the cathedral's altarpiece of Our Lady of Sorrows.
